FAQs

Review some of our frequently asked questions. Some content provided is from the National Home Watch Association.

What is a Home Watch service?

A Home Watch service is designed to give you peace of mind while you are away from your home. The official definition of Home Watch is “A visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.”

What will a Home Watch service do for me?

Our Home Watch service will offer an exterior and interior inspection checklist that we will complete upon each visit. We also offer many extra services in addition to the inspection checklist based on our client’s individual needs and concerns.

How much does a Home Watch service cost?

Our Home Watch service is based on the size of your home and if any additional services are needed. Each of our proposals are personalized after the client shares their individual needs and concerns.

Why do I need a Home Watch service?

So many things can happen to your home in your absence: break-ins, water leaks, electrical problems, insects, mold, and storms, to name a few. Preventive measures and proactive maintenance can help avoid any unwelcome surprises.

Why would I use a Home Watch service when my neighbors can watch my house?

Although it is great to have your neighbors or family nearby to check on your house, it is not the same. Our Home Watch service is accredited, insured, and professional. It is our job; therefore, we are reliable with scheduled visits. We know how to handle different situations and have the proper professionals to call.

What if I have a situation at my home?

We will contact you to discuss the situation and what course of action needs to be taken. We will also send pictures and/or a video for you to see. If the situation is an emergency and/or homeowner cannot be reached, we will handle the situation in the fastest, safest, and most cost-effective way.

Is a Home Watch service a security service?

We are not officially a security service. However, having a visible home watch service present can help act as a crime deterrent.

What does a Home Watch service do with my keys, codes, remotes, etc.?

We keep all our client’s keys, codes, remotes locked in a safe/lock box.

What is the advantage of using a Home Watch company that is an accredited Member of the National Home Watch Association?

Not all Home Watch companies qualify for membership in the National Home Watch Association. Castle Concierge has been carefully screened, including full background checks. References have been checked, and insurance, bonding, and licenses (if applicable) have been verified. We also abide by the Code of Ethics and set of standards of the NHWA. Membership in the NHWA can be verified by visiting the NHWA or by contacting the NHWA.

How often will a Home Watch company check on my home?

Every Home Watch schedule is different and based on our client’s individual needs and concerns. We can check on your home as frequently as once a week or once a month. Depending on how long you are away from your home also factors into the requested frequency. We can also go out for emergency checks that are not on the regular schedule.

What other services does a Home Watch company offer?

In addition to Home Watch, we offer luxury Concierge Services and House Management. See our list of Majestic Services for more details. We customized services based on our client’s individual needs and wants. Services not shown on the list can be requested.
